Buses depart Sofitel Brisbane for Brisbane Airport: 12:15pm, 12:45pm, 1:20pm & 2:00pm

Appointed Delegates Note: If your flight times or dates are outside these times, you will need to make your own way to and from the airport. AMA will only reimburse for any airtrain travel costs in Brisbane given that the Sofitel is located directly above Central Station. Please note that all receipts must be submitted together with the 'Claim for Reimbursement Form' before Friday 14 June 2019.  Reimbursement forms will be available at the Conference Registration Desk. If you do not wish to take this transport option and would like to make your own way to and from the airport during the time of scheduled buses,  this will not be reimbursed by the AMA. 

Direct access from the international and domestic terminals is available via the Brisbane Airtrain. The hotel is located above Central Station (a two minute walk from the station to the hotel’s reception desk). The train departs every 15 minutes with the first train service on weekdays from Brisbane Airport departing at 5:04am and the last service of the day at 10:04pm.

Delegates are asked to sit in their relevant State or Practice Group (Doctors in Training, GP, Private Specialist, Rural, Public Hospital) during the Conference. There is no allocated seating for social functions aside from a sponsor, media and international table. 

A Breastfeeding room will be located on the conference floor (Level 1) in the St Germain room. Please ask staff at the registration desk if you need assistance in finding the room. 

Gala Dinner

Brisbane City Hall located within a short walk of the Sofitel Brisbane. Delegates are to make their own way to Brisbane City Hall. 

Bus transfers departing Brisbane City Hall for Sofitel Brisbane have been arranged for delegates.

Registration fees do not include insurance coverage of any kind. Delegates are strongly advised to secure appropriate travel and health insurance. Conference organisers cannot accept responsibility for any delegate failing to cover their own insurance.

Delegates arriving on Friday morning may store their luggage with the Concierge in the appropriate luggage storage area. Delegates will have a chance to collect their luggage and proceed to their rooms during Conference break times.

Your name badge will be your official pass to conference sessions and must be worn at all times. Your name badge will be available for collection at the Registration Desk.

The registration and information desk will be located outside the for collection of name badges and conference materials. Staff will be on hand to answer any queries and provide information.

All member delegates can vote during National Conference proceedings and Saturday’s policy debates. Voting cards and information on voting will be inserted in delegate name tags. Delegates are asked to bring their own electronic devices e.g. mobile, ipad, laptop for Saturday’s policy debates.
