Make an impact on the future of your profession

Attend one of the most significant events in AMA’s calendar and make a difference to the future of your profession and health care.

The AMA National Conference, taking place on the 25 – 27 May in Canberra, will bring together doctors from across the country.

The AMA invites all members to participate in the conference; whether you are a doctor in training, GP or consultant, this is your opportunity to contribute to AMA policy.  Members attending the conference will get the chance to debate emerging issues that guide the work of Federal Council, AMA’s national policy making body.

Get involved.  AMA members can either register for the conference online or be nominated by State/Territory AMAs or practice groups.

While most of the delegates to National Conference from each practice group are drawn from the members of the Councils that represent those groups, there are sometimes opportunities for members to fill vacant positions and attend National Conference. Practice group categories include: Doctors in Training, General Practice, Public Hospital Doctors, Rural Practice and Private Specialist Practice.  Delegates selected to represent their State or Territory are allocated by the relevant State or Territory AMA.

Conference delegates nominated by State and Territory AMAs or practice groups will have their registration fee, travel and accommodation costs covered and arranged by the AMA.  All other delegates are to fund and arrange their own registration, travel and accommodation.

More information on the conference will be available soon.
