Clin A/Prof Saxon Smith

Associate Professor Saxon D Smith is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.  He graduated medicine from the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand, has a Master Degree in Health Law and a Doctor of Philosophy (Medicine) from the University of Sydney.

Associate Professor Smith is the principal dermatologist at The Dermatology and Skin Cancer Centre in Gosford and St Leonards, NSW; a staff specialist at Royal North Shore Hospital, St Leonards, NSW and a clinical associate professor at the University of Sydney.  He is a clinical supervisor for dermatology trainees, higher degree by research students, and University of Sydney Doctorate of Medicine (MD) research supervisor/tutor.  His has a range of research interests in medical and surgical dermatology, workforce planning and ethics.

Associate Professor Smith has been a key note speaker and invited speaker to national and international conferences.  He has over 50 peer reviewed journal publications and over 100 published abstracts.

Associate Professor Smith is a past president of AMA (New South Wales), a current member of the Federal AMA council representing New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory, and current member of the AMA New South Wales council representing Northern Sydney. He is the immediate past Chair of New South Wales Faculty of the Australasian College of Dermatologists, as well as the immediate past Chair of the Representatives Committee, and current Chair of the Public Relations Committee for the Australasian College of Dermatologists.
